Class-Specific Questions:

  • What is the difference between your group classes and private tutoring?

Group tutoring comprises tailored lessons to improve students’ skills in textual analysis and writing development. It is centred around teacher made resources and activities to improve skills, rather than a tutor guiding a child through student, supplied work.

  • How many students are in a group class? There are a maximum of 4 students in each class. This allows individualised support and learning to be tailored to each student. It also enables personalised real time feedback for each student to be given.

  • How long are the classes/tutoring sessions? Each session lasts between 60-75 minutes depending on level. Primary based lessons (including Selective Test preparation sessions) last 60 minutes. All senior (Years 7-11) lessons are 75 minutes in length.

  • What is the cost of your services? Prices range from $50-60 per session (paid by term) depending on class type.

  • How often do classes/tutoring sessions take place? Classes are weekly and all senior classes have one additional free assessment session each week. Classes run during term time only. Optional holiday lessons are available.

  • What platform do you use for online classes? Classes are run on Zoom and are best completed on a laptop or computer. Worksheets use live-interactive documents through Google Documents. Students need access to an email for lesson materials. No printing is required.

  • What materials do students need for the classes? All class materials are provided. No additional materials are needed.

  • What is your cancellation policy? With advanced notice, make up classes may be offered in special circumstances at the discretion of Lazar Tuition.
